The story of Brenda

Not all heroes wear aprons. But some do and they wear them damn well.

Brenda has been part of Salsa Shop longer than most people have known what a proper burrito tastes like. She’s seen it all: the lunch rushes, the late-night shifts, the grand openings, the chaos and the calm. And she never blinked.

She started in Amsterdam on our location Kinkerstraat, ran the floor like a general, and became the kind of person you want in your corner when 80 customers show up unannounced. When we opened the Haarlemmerstraat location, it was Brenda who led the charge. She rolled up her sleeves, built the team, trained them, and brought that signature energy with her. The kind you can’t fake.

Then came something even more powerful than a perfect salsa-to-rice ratio: motherhood. She stepped away to welcome a little one into the world. And when she came back, she wasn’t just ready. She came back with even more fire.

Family, flavor and Mexico

Earlier this year, she traveled to Mexico. Not just for sunshine and tacos, but to bridge two worlds. She introduced our Salsa Shop team to her family. Her parents run multiple Mexican restaurants there. This isn’t just a job for Brenda. It’s in her blood.

Her roots run deep, in food, in service, in the kind of hospitality that doesn’t need to be taught, because it’s part of who you are. You could taste it in the tortillas her family made, hear it in the stories they shared, and see it in the pride in her eyes.

That trip reminded us all why we do what we do.

Now, she’s Regional Manager

And now? Brenda’s been promoted to Regional Manager. It’s a big deal. Mot just for her, but for us. Because growth isn’t just about opening new shops and launching new menus. It’s about seeing people rise. It’s about watching someone who’s poured themselves into this company for years get the recognition they’ve earned ten times over.

We’re damn proud of her.
