January gets way too much credit. September might be the better month for starting over. Summer is ending. Students are starting a new year. Everyone is suddenly back at work. Calendars fill up again, gyms get busier and after weeks of eating dinner in parks, on terraces or wherever the sun happens to be shining, having some kind of routine starts sounding good again. There's a reason for that.
The September Reset Is Real
Researchers call it the fresh start effect: moments that feel like the beginning of a new period can make us more motivated to start something or pick up a goal again. A new year is the obvious one. But a new month, a Monday or the beginning of a new semester can do it too.
Which makes September a good candidate. For students, there's an actual new school year. For everyone else, holidays are over and normal life starts up again. Either way, there's a very noticeable right, what am I doing with my life again? feeling in the air.
We're not suggesting you build a colour-coded morning routine and suddenly become a completely different person. Please don't.
A Reset Doesn't Have to Be That Serious
Maybe September means getting back into running after barely touching your trainers all summer. Maybe it's finally trying that class you've been talking about for six months. Cooking a little more. Eating something decent between work and the gym. Seeing your friends on a Tuesday instead of waiting for the weekend. Or doing something purely because it sounds fun.
That's probably the version of a reset we like most. Live Saucy has never really been about having everything perfectly together. Quite the opposite. It's about getting out, saying yes a little more often, meeting people and adding some things to your week that you actually look forward to.
