At some point during our latest Live Saucy Run, we overheard a group recording a video for someone who wasn't there.
“WHERE ARE YOU?!”
Apparently, their friend normally joins the runs too and was very much being missed. A small moment, but probably one of our favourites from the day.
New Neighbourhood
Our Live Saucy Runs move around.
We've started from different Salsa Shop locations, run through different parts of Amsterdam and even took the concept to Haarlem together with HRLM Running. This time, around 70 people met us at NDSM for a 6K through Amsterdam Noord, our biggest group so far.
Changing locations keeps things interesting. A new route, a different part of the city and another Salsa Shop to finish at. But we're starting to notice that while the locations change, a lot of the faces don't. People come back. They recognise each other from previous runs. They bring friends. Someone they met while running last time suddenly isn't a stranger anymore.
And apparently, if you skip one, you risk getting shouted at via video.
See You at the Next One
What started with people signing up for a 6K is slowly turning into a group that actually knows each other. We provide the route, music and somewhere to eat afterwards. The rest seems to be happening by itself.
After this edition, around 70 runners made their way back to Salsa Shop NDSM, where running once again turned into eating, talking and hanging around for much longer than the actual 6K.
Next location? We'll let you know.
Just make sure your friends don't have to ask where you are.
